Design and Development of bamboo composites-based materials

We develop sustainable and enviro-friendly composites for civil, aviation, marine and household application using natural fibers

Bamboo based Products Manufacturing

Bamboo can be grown in 3 to 5 years and its can be cultivated like other crops. National bamboo Misson, it has been observed that it can be grown any where in India with little effort. In spite of that Govt. of India is encouraging to grow bamboo as crops.  Bamboo absorbs more carbon-dioxide as compared to other plants.  Mass level demand can be fulfilled by using bamboo as natural reinforcing material. The waste of bamboo can be recycled and can be used to make many other products like bamboo powder, coal, agarbatti sticks etc. Bamboo fibers have more strength than other natural fibers.  The Govt. of India  prohibited specific woods so It has the capacity to replace wooden products in civil and household industry.

Advantages over Iron Sheet

Production of iron sheets is highly energy consuming process

These sheets become hot in summer and cold in winter

In rainy/moist environment low life due to rusting

Advantages over Saal or Teek Wood

Saal or Teak wood trees take 30 years.

Indian government has banned on cutting trees

In rainy/moist environment low life due to water swelling

Advantages over Glass Fiber Sheet

Production of glass fiber sheets is highly energy consuming process

These sheets pose risk of landfill after use

Toxic and health hazard while production

Advantages of Bamboo Products

Bamboo grows at very fast; it takes only 4 to 5 years for maturing

It absorbs CO2 during growth

It can be used in rainy and moist environment

Very simple tooling/machine required for production
